Our trip to the Yellowstone was really uneventful. We had some VERY close connections but we did make them all. Most areas in the park show more water than in other years. We saw a lot of different animals on our way to the park. We saw swans in the Yellowstone south of Livingston and pelicans further south. We saw several herds of Big Horn sheep. These were smaller herds of 6 to 10 sheep segregated by sex. We also saw many hawks and osprey.
We did not get to the park until today. It was a short trip as we did not get back from Livingston until late in the afternoon. We saw lots of sheep with at least 43 sheep in one of the herds. There were lots of elk and bison.
We saw a strange bison carcass. The bison was lying on its back with its feet up in the air. It was very bloated but did not show many signs of a battle. A couple of coyotes were feeding on it but they did not open it up enough to show. A bison baby stayed near the carcass all of the time.
Enough of this. On to the Construction Update. The plumbing in the basement has been roughed in and they were going to finish prepping the basement for the concrete. We talked to the person that was going to do that work. He is a close neighbor that is also from PA. Our neighbors on both sides are also PA transplants.
They will pour the concrete on Monday, weather permitting. The SIP panels will be delivered on Monday or Tuesday. As you have probably guessed, we will be on the site both days.
We spent the bulk of today at the cabinet shop working on plans for the cabinets in the kitchen, mud room and bathroom. We also looked at different counter tops and flooring tile. We expect quotes from this shop next week.
Next week we will also look into other flooring options as well as the appliances for the kitchen. Next week looks like it will be very busy, Maybe we will be able to fit some time in the park.
